Competition organizers have access to change various parameters about how that particular competition will be run.
This parameter is a string value that is a path to wherever documentation for Avogadro overall is kept. The default prefix (”http://docs.avogadro.ws/”) will link here, to the main Avogadro documentation wiki. If this parameter is blank, no links to documentation will appear throughout the competition. If it is non-blank, it will be used as a prefix, followed by the name of the function more information is needed on.
Avogadro can score events in a variety of ways, and this toggle sets that preference. Toggling this preference will delete all existing final scores (but will leave raw scores intact), since the final score is determined by the scoring mode. Hence, this parameter should not be changed once scoring has started, else all event supervisors will have to go back and enter final scores again.
Of all the events entered for the competition, schools usually will not participate in all of them. These two parameters set the maximum and minimum number of events each school must be entered in. Both numbers are inclusive, so if schools must enter exactly twenty events, put both the minimum and maximum to “20”.
Avogadro allows competitions to sort their events into various event groups. If you choose to use event groups, you can also require that schools enter a certain number of events per group. These parameters can be combined with the preceding “competing events” parameters to make sure that schools spread their events out over multiple groups. Both minimum and maximum numbers are inclusive. If both these values are set to zero, no restriction will be placed on schools entering events, based on event groups.
If a school is assigned a coach, and that coach is a registered user of Avogadro, Avogadro can allow that coach access to the school editing area, to enter information about only their school. This is useful to allow pre-registration and for coaches to enter their own information to prevent transcription errors, but as the competition nears, only the competition organizers should be allowed to make last-minute changes. So, if you wish to give coaches access to edit their school information, put this toggle to “on”. When you want to shut off that access, put this toggle to “off”.
When scoring is complete, the public can see the competition results, and event supervisors can no longer edit score information (competition organizers can, though). Set this configuration to “Yes” to show the public the results, or “No” to hide the results and let event supervisors enter scores.
Sometimes in an emergency situation it's useful to prevent all users from changing data temporarily, to fix and error or ensure that data doesn't change over a span of time. If an "SO Manager" toggles this setting to “on”, all coaches and event supervisors will be completely locked out of the Avogadro system, and “SO Staff” members will be given “view-only” access to the data. Only “SO Manager” users will be able to edit data, and remove the lock when the system is stable again.
